Indications  

Prevention of atherothrombotic events in: Patients suffering from MI (from a few days until < 35 days), ischemic stroke (from 7 days until < 6 mth) or established peripheral arterial disease. Patients suffering from non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (unstable angina or non-Q-wave MI) in combination w/ acetylsalicylic acid (ASA). 

 

Dosage  

1 tab daily.

 

ADMINISTRATION:

May be taken with or without food. 

 

Contraindication    

Active pathological bleeding such as peptic ulcer & intracranial haemorrhage. 

 

Precautions  

Patients who may be at risk of increased bleeding from trauma, surgery or other pathological conditions. Patients w/ severe hepatic disease who may have bleeding diatheses. Patients who have lesions w/ a propensity to bleed. Pregnancy & lactation. 

 

Adverse Reactions  

GI bleeding, purpura, bruising, haematoma, epistaxis, haematuria, ocular haemorrhage, intracranial bleeding, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, gastritis & constipation, rash, pruritus. 

 

Drug Interaction  

Warfarin, aspirin, heparin, thrombolytics or NSAIDs.
