Xenical® Xenical is a prescription
weight-control medication useful for the long-term treatment of
significant obesity. |

|
Treatment of obese (BMI ≥ (greater than or
equal to) 30 kg/m2) & overwt (BMI ≥ (greater than or equal to)
28 kg/m2) patients including patients w/ risk factors associated w/
obesity, in conjunction w/ a mildly hypocaloric
diet. |

|
|
Adults 1 cap w/ each main meal.
|

|
|
Should be taken with food (Take immediately
before or during or up to 1 hr after each main meal. If a meal is
missed or contains no fat, the dose may be
omitted.). |

|
|
Chronic malabsorption syndrome, cholestasis.
Pregnancy & lactation.
|

|
|
Exclude organic causes of obesity (e.g.
hypothyroidism) before treatment. Elderly. Monitor cyclosporin
plasma levels during concomitant usage.

|
|
GI discomfort, oily spotting, flatus w/
discharge, faecal urgency, fatty/oily stool, oily evacuation,
increased defaecation & faecal incontinence.

|
|
May decrease absorption of vit A, D, E & K
& β-carotene. Reduction in cyclosporin plasma levels.
